The NNFX Algo Tester includes in the software an News indicator that can be used as an integral part of your algorithm. This indicator uses historical events data to indicate if the algorithm is in the trade zone (trades allowed) or in the no-trade zone (trades not allowed).
If you prefer to use an indicator in this slot as an additional Volume or C2, you can do so using one of the Custom Indicators options.
By default, only events affecting the pair in your current chart window are active. For example if you are using the EURUSD then only EUR and USD events will be active. This can be changed by setting the ENABLE ONLY PAIR EVENTS option to "false". The SHOW EVENTS IN THE UPCOMING option allows you to select the number of hours events are relevant. For example if SHOW EVENTS IN THE UPCOMING=24h then all selected events within the next 24 hours will be shown.
Events are shown in the indicator chart window with balls. Each ball represents a different currency. If there is a ball on the current candle then this will indicate that there is a valid event. By default this means that you are in a no-trade zone, preventing you from placing a entry when the news comes out.
Historical events data can be updated manually using the Login Panel (Resources tab). You can also select automatic news updates.
